Hey there world, I’m Shannon

FACT: I am a sophomore at one of the best public universities in the country.

FACT: I am passionate about food and enjoy cooking for myself and others.

FACT: I am a “flexitarian”, enjoying a primarily vegetarian diet, but occasionally consuming fish and poultry.

FACT: I am a recovered anorexic (though let’s not kid ourselves, anyone familiar with the disease knows recovery is an ongoing process).

and FACT: I’m an accidental NCAA Division I athlete.

I tried out for my school’s rowing team on a whim as a freshman, having never rowed before.  I never expected to make the cut, but I did.  It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the sport.  Strangely enough, tackling the strenuous physical challenges and hectic schedule that come along with life as a collegiate athlete did more for my ED recovery than hours of therapy ever did.  I blog about the unique challenges I face, the good food I eat, and how I nurture my body everyday.
